Marine Surveyor
Thierry Simon was born in Antibes and has lived in North America for over thirty years. He has participated in many regattas on keelboats and multihulls. After studying Mechanical Engineering at Laval University, he studied at the Yacht Design Institute in Blue Hill, Maine USA. As a sailor, he has navigated all over the world. He has sailed more than 80,000 nautical miles and spent more than 3,000 days at sea during his 40 years of marine experience. With several ocean crossings to his credit, he has extensive experience in the following areas:
- Ship and marine systems design
- Wood, composite, steel and aluminum shipbuilding
- Optimization of rigging and sails
- Ship modifications and repairs
- Shipyard supervision and management of complex projects
- Consultations for special projects
- Expertise of classic boats
A member of IIMS (International Institute of Marine Surveying, www.iims.org.uk ), he studied the art and
techniques relating to marine surveys at this institute in the UK that is renowned worldwide as a leading organization in the marine industry.
Perfectly bilingual (French and English), he can write his reports in both languages, mastering the technical, commercial and legal aspects of his surveys.
