Cette technologie ne fonctionne que sur des m\u00e9taux ferreux (l\u2019acier, par exemple).<\/p>\n<p>Un puissant aimant est plac\u00e9 dans la r\u00e9gion de la pi\u00e8ce \u00e0 inspecter. Dans la plupart des cas, on utilise un \u00e9lectro-aimant. Car il peut \u00eatre activ\u00e9 et d\u00e9sactiv\u00e9, \u00e0 souhait. De plus, il peut \u00eatre repositionn\u00e9 facilement en fonction de la taille et de la g\u00e9om\u00e9trie de la pi\u00e8ce.<\/p>\n<p>Des lignes de flux magn\u00e9tique se propagent entre les deux p\u00f4les de l\u2019aimant. Une discontinuit\u00e9 dans le mat\u00e9riau (une fissure, par exemple) va causer une fuite du flux magn\u00e9tique.
